A huge Thank You!

Wow, what a year!  A HUGE THANK YOU to all our great clients, suppliers and network of friends and family that make running our business possible on a daily basis!

So what did 2017 bring for PT Design?

Lee Phillips from PCD Solutions joined PT Design this summer to support us with our increasing client base and workload.  Lee brought with him a wealth of knowledge from the steel foundry casting industry.  He has made a real impact on our Foundry Tooling and Paper to CAD work streams and we look forward to him working with us during 2018.

We normally attend Client’s sites for project initiation and update meetings however our new offices now give us the ability to discuss requirements and work through solutions here too.   They also give our expanding team the space to work together!

Giving Back in 2017

We are really keen to promote STEM education at primary school level and so this year we approached our local primary school and agreed to engage their Key Stage 6 children in Engineering.  What better way to do this than with 3D printing!  During August we applied for a Royal Society Partnership Grant and we were chuffed to bits when we found out in October that our application had been successful. Since then we have been working with the school to understand how we get 45 ten year olds to use a CAD programme to design their own fidget spinners and then print them out – Formula 1 engine part tooling currently feels a lot less scary. You will hear and see the results in February 2018!
